To raise awareness about landmine victims, we created the Crutch Chair and disguised it as part of a school’s furniture. Each chair is symbolically crippled by a missing leg—yet held up by a crutch. The writing surface carries the story of a victim, hosting a video that links back to Handicap International’s donation portal. As students sat, studied and interacted with the Chair, they were given a first-person perspective on the desires of a landmine victim to be part of the student community again.
