Creative Execution

SUUMO “Footprints” Open on panoramic view of a city. A 43 years old father and 8 years old son are watching a house under construction. Father says: Almost ready to move in. Son says: Yes. The son notices something on the ground behind them Son says: Dad, what are these? There are green footprints that lead up to the father’s feet. The father also notices the footprints. Son’s voiceover: Those were dad’s footprints. They start following the footprints. The two walk by a river and pass through a shopping street. And then arrive to an apartment. They open the door of the room that footprints continue to. Camera focuses on the father, who is now 35 years old and looks a little younger than before. Father says: This was the place I discovered a life more important than my own Inside the room, there is a mother and newborn baby on the bed. The father bends toward the bed. The baby grabs the father’s finger with his tiny hand. The father speaks to the baby. Father says: I swear. I’ll stop wasting money. Will take better care of myself. And will sacrifice anything to make you happy. Mother looking at the baby says: You think that’s true, little guy? The son who was watching the scene from outside of the door calmly answers. Son says: It’s true. I know it. Son’s voiceover: the footprints went on. Following the footprints, the father and son walk on a bridge and ride a bus. Climbing up steps on a hill, they are now before a tiny apartment. The camera shows the father who is now 29 years old. Father says: this was the place I took the biggest chance in my life. Inside the room, there is the mother, who is also a little younger than previous scene. The couple is sitting face to face. The father looks serious and nervous. Father says: When I die, I want to say that I was happy to have had you by my side. Mother says: What is that, are you proposing? Father says: Yeah. Mother says: Thank you. The mother notices the boy who is standing beside them. Mother: Oh? Father: He’s… The mother kneels and asks the son. Mother: Are you happy? Son: Yes. The mother gently strokes the son’s head. There is a tear in her eye. Mother: Of course. You are our son. Son’s voiceover: The footprints went on and on. The father and son follow the footprints to the busy city filled with college students. They find an old apartment. They open the door and look inside the room. Son says: It’s a small place. Now the father is even younger and 23 years old. Father: This was the place where I lived alone and for the first time, realized I wasn’t alone. A box filled with vegetables. The small room is full of stuffs. The father is speaking to his mother over the telephone. Father’s mother: Honey, are you eating well? Father: Don’t send me so many potatoes. Father’s mother: You have to eat well. Father: I know! …and don’t send me money every time. The father is holding an envelope with 20,000 yen in it. Father’s mother: But There’s nothing I want for myself. When you get tired of potatoes, buy yourself a nice meal. On the table, there was letter and photo from his mother. The son hands his father a handkerchief. The father trying hard not to cry. Son says: So that’s why you’re so nice to grandma. Father and son walking back along the same path as the sun sets. Son says: I wonder if I can do it all. Father: Of course you can. You’ll leave so many more footprints than I did. Tagline: Life is made of livings that you will never forget. Helping you find your perfect home. SUUMO. Company Logo: Opportunities for life.
