60 years ago the first New Zealand made Volkswagen rolled off the line in Otahuhu, Auckland. Over those 60 years, loads of Kiwis have taken photos, film and video of them in and around their beloved Volkswagens. To celebrate 60 years we asked kiwis to help us make a commemorative film, from their own footage. We reignited a latent love for the brand as we received over 18 hours of footage and hundreds of photos that we edited down into a 196-shots-in-60-seconds celebration. All thanks to The People’s Film, of the People’s Car, made by the people.
