Research shows 60% of small business owners (0 to 4 employees) didn't have a website. They were simply too busy to be doing the one thing that could help them the most. So we set out to create the least professional, most comedic characters possible and prove that no matter who you are, Crazy Domains makes getting online super easy.
Pairing actor Rhys Darby with director Taika Waititi was integral to bringing the idea to life. Their ability to invent characters and ad-lib on the scripts was always going to give the work a fresh and unique feel. Added to this, the campaign’s inspired production design created an amusing world in which Rhys and Taika could inhabit with comedic improvisations. All taxidermy pictured was uniquely created for the production by combining elements of existing pieces, meaning that no animals were harmed in the process. The pocket possum, the wide-eyed moose, the smiling swan, and rabid rabbit went on to become important components of the campaign and will endure in Australia’s taxidermy taxonomy for years to come.
