”Thin” is, for the cardboard, a praise. (In Japan, the Japanese word for thin, Usupperai, also means shallow.) Suntory has used lightweight cardboard for shipment of beverage since 2009. Lightweight cardboard saves the resources to produce cardboard and reduce CO2 emissions in the production process by reducing the amount of paper. Using thin cardboard is an effort of Suntory, who wants to preserve rich natural environment.
