In this mini-documentary we go for a ride with Japan’s “Jet Ski Doctor” to see how he uses ultra-portable GE medical technology to bring a hospital to a remote island in Japan. We’ll also watch as he gives a woman her ultrasound, demonstrating how GE technology is making new experiences possible for people all around the world.

“Kumiko’s First Ultrasound” tells a technology story in a very human way. As result, it resonated with a global viewership. It has gotten over 349,000 social media impressions. It has also been run in multiple different countries. In the Asia-Pacific area alone, it has been translated into Mandarin (China), Bahasa (Indonesia) and Vietnamese versions.

Thanks to GE technology, more and more people around the world are able to do things they’ve never been able to do before – big, amazing, life-changing things. To underscore the positive effect GE technology is having on people’s lives, we’ve created a series of mini-documentaries featuring these personal “World Firsts.” They show how GE innovations have directly impacted the lives of people around the world in interesting and surprising ways. Each spot tells a different story from somewhere around the world. “Kumiko’s First Ultrasound” features Japan’s very own “Jet Ski Doctor.” Thanks to ultra-portable GE medical technology, Dr. Gon is able to perform his duties on a jet ski. We join him on his rounds as he provides much needed medical care to the people of Miyakojima, and gives a woman her very first ultrasound.
