We need to remind people to stop using them and to use reusable ones instead. We collected used disposable chopsticks from the bin and created art with it. Turning these disposable chopsticks into formidable destructive machines that destroy our forest. It’s a single-minded piece of communication that is entertaining and easy to understand.
As this is a new campaign, it’s inspiring to see the original video on Youtube and Youku spreading to WeChat. A quick check with the client shows that awareness increased by 50% on their GroupChat account.
Every year Chinese consumes 45 billion pairs of disposable wooden chopsticks that equal to around 25 million trees. And the rate increases every year. Disposable chopsticks have long been preferred for their convenience and hygiene. Restaurants use them to prevent potential spread of disease, and for takeout and delivery meals. If China continues its current rate of disposable chopsticks consumption, it's estimated that China's forests will disappear in 20 years. Before it's too late, we need to stop letting disposable chopsticks destroy our forests!
