At the end of 2013, the world saw an uprising of public demonstrations, with aims to create a mass movement demanding political change. Millions of people from all walks of life, with various professions and multiple generations got involved. This was regarded as the biggest protest event in Thailand’s political history. It all began from one Facebook Page named “Art For Protest” that provided free graphic art for protesters. Our goal was to provide daily art pieces based around the political agenda, views of the protesters and public sentiments that were capturing the attention of the nation. Protesters could simply download the art pieces and use those at their demonstrations or share further on their social networks. Many celebrities, news reporters and also farmers whom joined the rally used our art pieces to convey their frustrations and sentiments. On the final day, for the largest planned demonstration in the country, the leader of the movement, too decided to use one of our artwork pieces as a symbol. This piece of art was a successful vehicle to persuade millions of Thai people to come out on the streets demonstrating.
