Melbourne is one of the world’s most livable cities. But recently, it faced a problem. Rapid growth saw traffic congestion reach an all-time high. Working with the insight that it's easier to achieve a goal if you can see it, we worked with city traffic engineers in a world-first to model a live congestion score for the city. This score formed the center of our campaign, Unlock the Grid, and acted as the public's gauge of success game as they completed challenges, shared tips and rallied together to make small (but significant) changes to their daily commute.
