Background

In July 2020, a non-partisan initiative was established to encourage overseas New Zealanders (‘Kiwi’) to participate in New Zealand’s election. Initially named iVoteNZ, it was founded on the belief that democracy only works if we are all part of it. New Zealand has one of the largest proportions of nationals living overseas, with close to one million Kiwi overseas (the majority in Australia). As nearly another 20% of the country’s 5M population, you would certainly want to have their input on the future of the country. The ingoing client brief: Develop a communications campaign to increase the number of overseas Kiwi’s voting in New Zealand’s 2020 Election. The objectives: - Create maximum reach, cut-through and engagement - Increase overseas voting - Increase overseas voting impact
