Background

Imagine being locked in a body that can’t move, Speak, swallow, hug, hold, and eventually breathe, all in a span of month while your mind stays sharp. Motor Neurone Disease is a brutal disease and NZ has one of the world’s highest mortality rates from it. Despite this, it’s a disease that has low levels of awareness and understanding compared to other illnesses. It’s important for MND to tackle this because the higher the profile of the charity, the higher the likelihood of them getting access to increased levels of support, funding, and research, to benefit those living with MND. To address this, MND concentrate their efforts to the month of June (MND Awareness Month) to make as much of an impact as possible. This is where we come in – we were tasked with finding a creative way to cut through and help raise awareness and understanding for MND.
