Write a short summary of what happens in the radio or audio execution or campaign.

The Vitara is Suzuki’s flagship SUV, known for being fun and adventurous. But how do you sell a car made for adventures when, due to covid restrictions, most Australians couldn’t drive further than five kilometres, and only for necessary tasks like groceries? Well, even ordinary trips can be extraordinary adventures…with the right soundtrack. So, we employed a strategy that hasn’t been used in 200 hundred years, the Sea Shanty. Except for land. Land Shanties! Creating the ultimate short-road-trip album to bring adventure to the everyday journey. The concept album followed one man’s odyssey…to buy almond milk. With each song designed to elevate different everyday moments like finding a park “The White Whale” or just lovingly getting drive thru on the way home, “Drive thru to my heart”. Recorded by the world’s biggest shanty band, The Longest Johns, the genre-defining album helped make all the advertising and made Vitara famous.

Flagship Vitara Heave the belts and lock them fast, we’re headin’ on a road trip! Well perhaps that is a stretch, just down the shops we nip! For I forgot my sweet-hearts almond milk, and for her I’d travel far, But truth be told I have the goal of driving in my car. CHORUS: Oh, yeee haaaara, I’m taking me carra, The pride of the fleet, and all she meets, The flagship Vitara! Oh, yeee haaaara, I’m taking me carra, Heads turn on the street, as I toot to the beat, The flagship Vitara! This cabin’s well appointed, so it’s really much less trouble, It’s not like I can walk around in an air-conditioned bubble. All aboard my crew of kids, for the almond milk it beckons. Buckle up, you know my rule, it’s safety first and second. Casting out on the open road, as far as the ends of the block For our freedom knows no bounds until we reach the shop Adventure in my heart as i squint at the horizon A seasoned captain knows when to deploy the old sun visor CHORUS: Oh, yeee haaaara, I’m taking me carra, The pride of the fleet, and all she meets, The flagship Vitara! Oh, yeee haaaara, I’m taking me carra, Heads turn on the street, as I toot to the beat, The flagship Vitara! And here we are, let’s find a space, we’re at our destination, Soon I’ll treat you right my girl with a meal at the petrol station. There’s no small quest for the big of heart, and our courageous ilk. Just remember, bright blue label, almonds splashing into milk. CHORUS: Oh, yeee haaaara, I’m taking me carra, pride of the fleet, and all she meets, The flagship Vitara! Oh, yeee haaaara, I’m taking me carra, Heads turn on the street, as I toot to the beat, The flagship Vitara! x2 THE WHITE WHALE Lost in the iron sea, of endless rolling roofs. We’re going for glory kids, your dad has something to prove. You see it’s not enough to just have hope when lost, You must have the highest of hopes, and hold out at all cost. That’s why as I tack across this parking garage, I ignore spots at the entry and aim for the driver’s mirage. The unspeakable beauty of free land at the front of the store. And yet this takes vision and steadfast courage to aim for more. All the early spots are clearly reserved for the meek. A spot equidistant to store and ticket machine we seek! CHORUS: We hunt the white whale, the holy grail, the park in front of the store. We hunt the white whale, the holy grail With gusto and glee, sing it with me, we dare to ask for more! VERSE: My child jolts me to attention, Land HO! Does he scream. I pinch myself and sure enough the space of my dreams The sharks begin to circle, I indicate my intention, Just know this parking space is mine, I show no apprehension. Yet as I approach one thing’s painfully clear, Other cars with blinking lights starting to appear Back off green van I see your plan, Don’t think about it blue sedan. This spot is mine, we’ll hold our ground. There’s no better land to be found. All the early spots are clearly reserved for the meek. A spot equidistant to store and ticket machine we seek! CHORUS: We hunt the white whale, the holy grail, the park in front of the store We hunt the white whale, the holy grail, With gusto and glee, sing it with me, we dare to ask for more! As we bring her round, I find to my dismay A little hatchback hiding there is taking up half the bay With hope dashed against the rocks, and the petrol light now on, Perhaps my nerve is waning, i’ll retreat before too long. No, hold fast, and cast away all dread There’ll be spaces that we seek in the times ahead Sure some may say, any park in a store But only the bravest captain finds his true reward All the early spots are clearly reserved for the meek. A spot equidistant to store and ticket machine we seek! CHORUS: We hunt the white whale, the holy grail, the park in front of the store We hunt the white whale, the holy grail, With gusto and glee, sing it with me, we dare to ask for more! We hunt the white whale, the holy grail, the park in front of the store We hunt the white whale, the holy grail, With gusto and glee, sing it with me, we dare to ask for more! With gusto and glee, sing it with me, we dare to ask for more! Beyond the light Verse 1 Through the fear we push beyond, we take it to the limit, For the light upon the petrol gauge has been on for 15 minutes. Cause when that glow comes on and all we’re running on is trust When they say you can’t go on, well, that is when we must. Pre Steel your nerve, have heart my crew, for the servo siren calls, Ye courage shall be rewarded, with fuel and sausage rolls. Chorus Hold steady Hold fast We’re running out of gas. Hold steady Hold fast Have courage, we will last. Although we ne’r have said a word for you are forged of iron But here we are in the “crimson realm” let’s pray your gauge is lying For we have drained the tank before a’stranded on the Hume. But to be fair, that was my fault, we pushed too far on fumes As we march beyond the light I feel no greater thrill. This I vow to you my sweet, your heart will get its fill. Chorus Hold steady Hold fast We’re running out of gas. Hold steady Hold fast Have courage, we will last. I know I ask a lot of you but you ask nothing of me We can go the distance with your first class fuel economy. The lady of the map she tells of a station up ahead. In 20 clicks you can be sure I’ll get you washed and fed With hope and valor, grille to boot, we execute the plan It's only when we’re told we can’t, we truly prove we can. Chorus Hold steady Hold fast We’re running out of gas. Hold steady Hold fast Have courage, we will last. Lady of the GPS Dear lady of the GPS, we’re going separate ways Yes I know you’ve been there for me, but I just have to say. I feel a surge of joy as I shun your urge to turn I need to travel my own way there, when the fire of freedom burns. Yes I know I asked for help, but I can change my mind, Tis a right of us free folk… if we feel inclined. For Hawks don’t use the GPS and that is what I am! Gliding down the coastal roads, the long way is my plan. Dear lady of the GPS, we should go our separate ways, In two hundred metres I won’t turn round, no matter what you say. I feel a surge of joy as I shun your urge to turn I need to travel my own way there, when the fire of freedom burns. Have you factored an ocean breeze? The tickle on my arm? The poetry in squinting at the glinting waters’ charm No, you’ve not. You’ll never see outside of your blue line I choose adventure, I will not turn, who cares if we’re on time Dear lady of the GPS, we should go our separate ways, In one hundred metres I won’t turn round, no matter what you say. For I feel a surge of joy as I shun your urge to turn I need to travel my own way there, when the fire of freedom burns. What a journey this is my kids! But one that goes too fast. Let’s make the most of where we are, and enjoy it while it lasts. Lookee here, what we have found! Hey kids, who wants drive-thru?! The gods-of-the-land have favoured our plan of choosing our own route. Dear lady of the GPS, we’ve gone our separate ways, I hear your cries but I won’t turn back, no matter what you say. I feel a surge of joy as I shun your urge to turn I need to travel my own way there, When the fire of freedom burns, when the fire of freedom burns (I need to travel my own way there, when the fire of freedom burns.) Drive thru to me heart. You know that I love you. And you know that love is true. There’s something I feel so deeply about getting drive-thru. We order and shunt along the best traffic jam around. For soon we’ll be at the port-hole where the burgers can be found. CHORUS: To the valley of the golden nugget where the rivers run so sweet, It’s either heart attack or love my dear, for my heart just skipped a beat. We’re driving thru the drive thru for that’s what it’s built to do, A minute past we were hungry, now we’ve rations for the crew, A belly full o’ treasure from the paper chest we want, I was happy in this car before and now it’s a restaurant! CHORUS: To the valley of the golden nugget where the rivers run so sweet, It’s either heart attack or love my dear, for my heart just skipped a beat. We’ll take this meal to a quiet place where lovers often meet. It’s safest not to drive all greasy, “please don’t get sauce on the seat”. As this dream is ending, I find more fries up for grabs For the kids can’t claim the captains tax, from the bottom of the bag. CHORUS: To the valley of the golden nugget where the rivers run so sweet, It’s either heart attack or love my dear, for my heart just skipped a beat. X2 We’ve ruined dinner yet made our day as we eat and drink and sing. We’ll remember these small times as just the greatest thing. A Mighty Wave Upon the black tar backstreets, a vessel all alone My weary eyes are scanning, This empty school zone. When over the horizon comes a car I know A Mighty Vitara just like my very own. I raise the flag of unity, A gesture of the brave A signal to the helmsman, with a single finger wave. My belly half full of drive-thru the rest of butterflies, I pray, don’t leave me lonesome, as we draw alongside The gales from the AC, aid a chilling point indeed. There’s no colder place for a heart to be than hanging in the breeze. For I’ve sent a beacon bold and bright and haven’t heard in days. In truth, it’s been a second, but soon we’re parting ways. Like ships passing in the night, But there's no pitch and roll And it’s actually pretty sunny at 3.30 in the arvo Ne’ermind hold hope I say, Lock eyes. And now we dance, for the pride of our rides give this moment a chance. My finger standing to attention A captain at the bow Come on my friend reciprocate, The. Time. Is. Now. (cheers) Now it’s Fare well, my familiar, Farewell and au revoir But there's no bond like drivers of the same model car I’ll take the road ahead for you And I must part But there's no bond like drivers of the same model car Now it’s Fare well, my familiar, Farewell and au revoir But there's no bond like drivers of the same model car I’ll take the road ahead for you And I must part But there's no bond like drivers of the same model car …it’s Fare well, my familiar, Farewell and au revoir But there's no bond like drivers of the same model car I’ll take the road ahead for you And I must part But there's no bond like drivers of the same model car …there's no bond like drivers of the same model car Ode to the Road Yes I’m a landlubber, And I love the land, So maybe our journey was longer than planned. But who can put prices on what we have done The trials we have faced and the battles we’ve won I hands-free my sweetheart. “Far off? No, not long!” Just enough time for the end of this song. We’re making good progress, there’s naught left to do but sing of our victories, join in me crew! Chorus This is our, Ode, to the road, Our song for the street A harmony laden tribute off the pavement From all of these 5 seats We’re driving away and come what may But soon we’ll be home, and no more we shall roam Until we’re off again Whehey! A toast to the asphalt, the most hallowed ground and all the adventures so readily found Fending off pirates from rare parking bays Eating those fries with some bbq glaze Going our own way when told to turn round one finger waves when our Brothers are found No errand too drudging or journey too small Myself and me crew will relish them all. Chorus This is our, Ode, to the road, Our song for the street A harmony laden tribute off the pavement From all of these 5 seats We’re driving away and come what may But soon we’ll be home, and no more we shall roam Until we’re off again Whehey! We get the call from my love, ‘can i get a lift to pilates’ strap yourself in my kids we’re on again me hearties! Coz every trips an adventure No matter the size or the cause So give a roaring cheer I hear the road and it calls Chorus This is our, Ode, to the road, Our song for the street A harmony laden tribute off the pavement From all of these 5 seats We’re driving away and come what may But soon we’ll be home, and no more we shall roam Until we’re off again Our, Ode, to the road, Our song for the street A harmony laden tribute off the pavement From all of these 5 seats We’re driving away and come what may But soon we’ll be home, and no more we shall roam Until we’re off again

Tell the jury about the casting process.

After writing the album we auditioned many folk and Shanty bands (turns out there are quite a few) and landed on The Longest Johns. With their honest and beautiful harmonies they weren’t a parody band, and although this was a comedy album we wanted to take it deadly seriously, and have the songs be genuinely moving, even if they were about getting drive-thru fast food. In fact, especially if they were. The band understood the tone needed and shared our vision. Plus, their look, and their dry but hilarious demeaner suited our target audience of young and fun millennials and brand. So also, as fronts for PR they were perfect.
