Write a short summary of what happens in the radio or audio execution or campaign.

Evocative sound design recreates the real-life event of NRMA Insurance assessor, Guy, digging through the charred rubble of a burned down home to find a client’s jewellery. Over the action we hear a narrator tell the dramatic story of how Guy’s hard-won knowledge gained from years of experience with home fires encouraged him to keep digging for the family’s treasured gold heirloom.

Script & Translation. Provide a full English script and translation of any audio.

SFX: Fire flames. Sirens. Then silence. VO: After the house fire, nothing’s left. VO: Except Guy. SFX: A shovel digging into ash. Rubble being sifted through. The odd, distant currawong. A man exhaling. VO: Knee-deep in ash. VO: Digging for a yellow gold necklace passed down through generations. VO: Guy knows this heirloom and its extreme melting point might just have survived. VO: If eight years as an NRMA Insurance Claims Assessor has taught him anything, it’s how important hope can be to a family who’ve lost everything. SFX: The digging intensifies, Guy is getting a little puffed. VO: So he wipes his brow and keeps digging, until... SFX: The clink of metal on metal sounds like he’s found something. VO: We’ve been preparing our whole lives for the things you can never prepare for. Help, like no one else. NRMA Insurance. NRMA Sting T&Cs: Always read the PDS from NRMA Insurance.

Cultural / Context information for the jury

Australia is a country that faces the full spectrum of natural disasters, from cyclones, to earthquakes, to fires, to floods. And when they strike, which they often do, they strike hard — turning people’s lives upside down. For nearly 100 years, NRMA Insurance has been helping Australians. And with an average of 12+ years’ experience NRMA Insurance assessors embody this spirit of help. Which is why they’re the people you want to show up when a disaster strikes. They’ve helped Australians through the worst this country has ever faced. But despite the very real threat of natural disaster that we face, many Australians don’t realise that they need NRMA Insurance until they’re faced with the worst themselves.
