There are many transgender people in Thailand, and to outsiders it may seem like an open society… but in fact, traditional Thais still refuse to accept them and transgender people face a lot of discrimination everyday. They’re constantly made fun of by the media and by society. “Iron Heart” is an uplifting piece of work that doesn’t shy away from this taboo subject. While questioning all the prejudice transgender people get on a daily basis, and also broadcasting loud and proud that we will keep fighting against it.
Nothing can take us down, cos we’ve got an iron heart.
To raise the social topic of discrimination, and declare our support to ‘fight on’, with a different kind of portrayal of transgender people in Thailand.
The MV turned into a suspenseful, action short film, showing transgender characters not backing down and fighting back, silencing all those who are ignorant and unjust.
The song and MV became almost an anthem for the trans community. With people playing it at gatherings, rallying for their own community, raising awareness on how Thai society treats them and making people rethink their choices of words and actions.
