‘MOVING ON’ -The film follows the journey of Ajju, who grapples with fleeting moments of strength, independence, and vulnerability across the different stages of dealing with a heartbreak. It nuances those micro-emotions that entail a heartbreak, like the fleeting urge to pick up the phone and hear that familiar voice, then not doing it. The film celebrates the authenticity, spontaneity and freedom that comes from not having to think twice. You see how the View Once feature helps them stay connected and find the confidence to move on. It brings alive this intimate story through affectionate instances of how WhatsApp remains a private space for users to share their most personal moments while helping them open up with each other, as they like. The film ends in the solace Ajju and Mira in the moments exchanged and in the new normal they have forged for themselves.
Youth form the dominant demography of this country. They are redefining well established social codes, rituals and meaning of relationship and break ups. From live-in relationships to breakup-party are some of the new themes for Bollywood films, and they are using tech to their advantage to make this change and live this new codes. Research both primary and secondary indicated that relationships of the youth had come under a severe strain during the last two years. They were redefining the fabric of relationships and creating new codes.
To have a connect with the young audience and to have a fresh feel, the film was written and directed keeping the song at the heart of it - the nation's latest break-up anthem - Cold/Mess, by Prateek Kuhad, the new-age music sensation of India. Even though vulnerability and relatability was written into the script, the cast had to be one the audience would immediately feel for. So the guy who played one of the protagonists of Netflix series 'A suitable boy' and the girl from Netflix's latest anthology - Feels like Ishq(Love) was cast. The director and cinematographer too have had a breakout releases in latest Indian bollywood films.
