Cultural / Context information for the jury

75 years have passed since the end of the war, and the average age of Hibakusha has exceeded 83. The scale of this year's peace memorial ceremony has shrunk due to the effects of COVID-19, as the people who experienced the war are aging, the world becomes divided, and it is becoming a challenge to inherit the memory of the war to the next generation. The Nagasaki Newspaper, a local newspaper, was needed that people who wanted to attend the ceremony but were unable to do so should have a place to pray, and that people who were not interested in the atomic bombing should be interested in it.

This year's Peace Memorial Ceremony will be held at home. (Imagine that.) 75 years have passed since the atomic bombing. This year's milestone peace memorial ceremony has been scaled down to prevent the spread of COVID-19. For you who want to go to the venue but cannot go. We prepared a ceremony hall for a newspaper. Why don't we just imagine something here? The scenery of Peace Park. 75 years ago. The wishes of the atomic bomb survivors. ... nuclear weapons that still exist in the world. The future without nuclear weapons. To be reminded that what is natural is not natural. August 9, 2020. What do you imagine? 1. Spread the ground of the Peace Park printed on the front side (one side) on the floor. 2. Paying silent prayer while imagining you are in the Peace Park. 3 When the silent prayer is over, record what you imagined at that time in photographs or text. # What I imagined on August 9 Please tell me what you imagined on SNS with "# What I imagined on August 9". You can download the ground of Peace Park from QR code URL. You can share it even if you don't have a newspaper with you.

More and more people are using technologies like AR, VR and AI to pass on their war experiences. In this project, we were able to appeal to the human imagination using only printed expression without using such technology, and to make them imagine from the past to the present and the future. There is no approach to use newspapers as a new place of prayer and to pass on the war experience, and it is a new approach to use newspapers and to pass on the war experience.
