Write a short summary of what happens in the film.

To launch Gojek's ride hailing and food delivery services into a number of new markets in South East Asia we created a visual metaphor that represents what you can expect from Gojek's services. The campaign demonstrates how Gojek aims to remove everyday frictions and obstacles to bring more people, more flow in daily life – when everything just works. Therefore, a city was created – a place where everything just flows – representing everything customers can expect from Gojek. It’s a stylised world where people, motorcycles and cars can seamlessly co-exist and take the chaos out of your life. At the centre of it all is a grand performance where all elements come together in an unbelievable, coordinated stunt of an epic scale to form… a Gojek logo. Because what better way to introduce a new brand to the market than to make the whole campaign about the logo itself.

Cultural / Context information for the jury

Gojek is Southeast Asia’s leading on-demand multi-service platform. In many Southeast Asia cities, congestion is inevitable and is a struggle people have to face daily. This in combination with added friction like rain or heat, makes ride hailing and food delivery part of the solution to make everyday life easier. The Gojek City was designed to recreate a vibrant and bustling city that can authentically reflect of any South East Asian country like Vietnam, Thailand or Indonesia where food delivery and ride hailing are done by bikes and cars.

Tell the jury anything relevant about the direction. Do not name the director.

The film takes the audience on a journey from microsm to macrocosm. Beyond and before a big-scale spectacle, the camera nimbly weaves through the action, slinking over and under universal human stories happening within the Gojek city – personalities, obstacles and interactions that are recognisable from everyday life. This is the micro – told through an enhanced reality of a highly stylised world where Gojek deliveries are done by drivers and riders on a wall, where people and vehicles are in perfect harmony, where life flows seamlessly. Add to that some unexpected twists and turns in the sequence, the film further creates a sense of drama to keep audience entertained. The flow of the film oscillates from hectic to balletic in mid/mid-wide shots as movements and interactions between people, vehicles and traffic synchronise to form a choreographed chaos of the city before revealing the intricately intertwined macro flow of everything.
