Write a short summary of what happens in the film

We open to Viktor, a Russian man, perched on a Lada in an abandoned Russian fishing town. His goat watches on as he explains how easy it is to influence an election from overseas, via the internet. But not in the way you might expect. He is actually talking to overseas New Zealanders and encouraging them to vote and “Meddle in the New Zealand election.” Viktor talks of the importance and ease; how there is “No need for sneaky VPN” and how you can do it all online if you go to his website.

Please tell us about the social behaviour that inspired the work

Russia has long been in the news for negatively meddling in other countries elections, by spreading their election messages via social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram - With very successful results. So, we thought, why don’t we use their online influencing powers for good. Because Russian influencing is always front of people’s minds around election time, we took advantage of the talkability, which in turn got the campaign shared like any good meddling attempt.
