The spot sees a cross section of Kiwis playing their favorite social sports - including soccer, rugby, golf, sailing, netball, cricket, and wheelchair basketball. Even though we see them play with passion, we notice that in every sport, the players are not just in it to win it. Opponents help each other up, share a laugh, and enjoy the game no matter the result.

Please tell us about the cultural insight that inspired the work

In some parts of the world, sport is about winning at all costs. In New Zealand, we have slightly different values. Sport is about more than just winning. It teaches us humility, teamwork, team spirit, compassion. It teaches us how to be better Kiwis. As the major sponsor of New Zealand Cricket, New Zealand Netball, as well as NZ’s teams for the Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games, ANZ Bank wanted to remind Kiwis why we support a lot of sports from grassroots to international level. We do it for all that sport teaches us. We support good sports.
