Write a short summary of what happens in the film

Many Japanese companies are going global. This leads to more cases in which fathers are sent abroad to work alone away from their families. In Japan, this is a social issue that causes family members to live apart. This story was created based on this circumstance. The characters in this story are a father and son. We chose them because father-son relationships are traditionally the poorest in terms of communication. Through social commentary, we wanted to realistically convey the significance of the 10 billion US Dollar project.

Cultural/Context information for the jury

There are two cultural information we would like to provide. Firstly, Idemitsu is not the only company that is expanding overseas. Many Japanese companies are going global. This leads to more cases in which fathers are sent abroad to work alone away from their families. Secondly, Japan’s declining birthrate and aging population is shrinking the domestic market. As Japan’s second-largest oil company, we have adopted a policy of aggressive expand to appeal to the world as a global company. “Next Idemitsu” has that spirit. Sending into overseas markets. The outcome of this was the construction of the Nisong Refinery, in Vietnam. This was 10 billion US Dollar project in which Vietnam, Kuwait and Japan cooperated.
