This film revolves around young individuals expressing themselves through their talents or their passions. For each one, labels accompanied by checkboxes appear, prompting the audience to make a decision about whether they hold any misconceptions about the nation’s youth. At the end of the film, the message: “In reality, there is more to our youths than we think” appears.
It is a well-known fact amongst Singaporeans that our world-class economy and infrastructure was built on the backs of baby boomers and the generation that came after. For a small country, we have the third highest per-capita GDP in the world, in terms of Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). Which is why the more senior amongst us have trouble reconciling the differences they see in the younger generation. Paradoxically, having the foundations to succeed already laid, and more options in life than any generation before, they seem a little lost.
