Why is this work relevant for Direct?

We turn the normal equipment that Thai people familiar with in daily life such as Seasoning Set, Neck Cushion, Fortune Lady and Wash Basin to become gadgets that can be enabled Thai people to watch their favorite shows regardless of the circumstances, place and time. In order to reach to our target audience directly, The​ consumers can have direct experience through seeing and using the gadgets at various locations and shops. With would lead the consumers to download LINE TV directly.

Background

LINE TV, Mobile TV Application has been giving its services since 2014 and would like to continue their expansion and reach new markets with the end goal of getting more Thais to watch LINE TV on their smartphones.

Describe the creative idea (30% of vote)

LINE TV decided to channel in on the Thai habit of watching their favorite shows. So we came up with WATCH ME Project, the new dimension to watch LINE TV on their smartphones via the cutting-edge gadgets. We design the gadgets that can blend into Thai Culture such as Seasoning Set, which help them enjoy their meal while watching shows. Neck Cushion, which enhances them to watch their programs anywhere they go. Fortune Lady, a little statue which Thai merchants believe she will bring wealth to them, adapted her into equipment that helps them to enjoy their favorite shows while they are on work time. Even Wash Basin, which helps Thai people to do their chores and also can enjoy their favorite contents. Out of what we have done, we would like to enable Thai people to watch their favorite shows regardless of the circumstances, place and time.

Describe the strategy (20% of vote)

LINE TV would like to be the top-of-mind local source for Thai people’s entertainment and subsequently recruit more users to download the application. But we don’t want to simply say how great the app is. We want to show that we wholeheartedly understand Thais. And we understand what they want. They want to watch their favorite show whenever they are free even if it means watching while devouring noodles. They want to watch the whole season of series anywhere anytime without having to lift a finger. They want to watch shows while selling goods at a shop or even while doing their chores at home. However, sometimes it may not be possible to be fully engrossed with the experience. Thus, Thais cannot fully indulge in their watching experience. LINE TV wants to change that by facilitating and exaggerating Thai watching experience.

WATCH ME Project, the new dimension to watch LINE TV on smartphones. We create cutting-edge gadgets such as Seasoning Set Phone Holder for those who enjoy watching mobile TV along with their meals. Neck Cushion Phone Holder for those who enjoy watching mobile TV anywhere and anytime. Fortune Lady Phone Holder for all shop owners who are on work time but eyes are yearnings for the mobile screen. Wash Basin Phone Holders for all homebodies who enjoy watching mobile TV while getting chores done. The gadgets have been given out more than 3,000 units among shops and vendors nationwide including restaurants, famous flea markets throughout the city such as the Or Tor Kor market, Train market, and Chatuchak market. Some are given out to household name celebrities along with the top tier trendsetting influencers to garner online reviews and have the stories be accessible to the public via social media.

After launching the campaign, LINE TV became the no.1 mobile platform for live streaming and for reruns in Thailand. The number of downloads for the app has improved by 8.2 million downloads. Brand awareness has increased dramatically from 35% to 86% while video views went up by 136%. Lastly, the number of people watching LINE TV every day has grown exponentially from 10% to 69%.
