Write a short summary of what happens in the film

Every Christmas one unexpected guest turns up, and every Christmas we welcome them in with open arms… it would be un-Australian not to. In this spot a most unexpected guest turns up in the most unexpected place.

Tell the jury about the elements of sound design.

In this spot the idea was to go on a journey with Santa as he crashes in the outback and then is helped back to work by the locals. With spacecraft like sounds, the noises of the outback, to the mirage sequence when Santa sees his old friends the reindeer. The final sequence was a challenge, creating from scratch the unique sounds of a V8 cross space craft sleigh that the locals built for Santa. Finally creating a balanced mix so the music and sound design weave neatly around each other, allowing each to take the lead respectively.
