Brief Explanation

Manila’s sidestreets are not prepared for the volume of traffic being redirected towards it by GPS apps. Slow down signs and alerts have not been placed to warn cars that children are playing on the streets. So Playstreet Safety Murals are interactive 3D street art that serve as massive slow down signs. When viewed from the driver’s seat, the monster murals create the illusion of real monsters popping out from the street asking cars to SLOW DOWN. These were designed based on monsters created for the campaign’s online component—Play Street Google Street View. Here users could navigate through all the playstreets in Manila, each one guarded by a monster inspired by a child’s drawing.
