The Campaign

The Oil Capper by Ammeloo is the world’s first oil dispenser that puts a cap on the oil you use. Using the physics of communicating vessels and air pressure, each pour is capped at 1 tablespoon- reminding you how much you are using and conditions you to pour less.

Creative Execution

Our oil dispenser is made to encourage people to consume less oil. It effectively reminds people how much they’re using in the most natural way. In the cap, communicating vessels and atmospheric pressure create a vacuum in one of the vessels as you pour. This vacuum created in the cap accurately caps each pour at 1 tablespoon to instinctively condition you to pour less. Most importantly, because the Oil Capper is made using simple physics and minimal technology, it ensures mass production and affordability for everyone.

Ammeloo plans to distribute 100,000 Oil Cappers to encourage households to reduce oil intake in 2018. This will help us ensure the product’s efficacy as we measure changes in oil consumption over time and obtain feedback to make any adjustments. As the first batch kicks off a healthier way of cooking and eating, it will secure enough traction as we invite consumers to public welfare activities to broadcast the Oil Capper on ground and online via social media to spread the word. In 2019, we aim to roll out to all first-tier cities so it can be widely purchased as the Oil Capper works towards Healthy China 2020’s vision to reduce oil intake by 47%. We also hope to further influence household oil brands to adapt our cap design in greater efforts to lower oil consumption nationwide.
