Since it’s very difficult to imagine how cold a destination would be, especially if you’re used to the tropical heat, we decided to make it easier to plan their wardrobes (and trip) by creating the Uniqlo Travel Planner.
The Uniqlo Travel Planner is a microsite that sorted Uniqlo’s 2016 Fall Winter collection, and matched the items to the weather conditions for popular destinations all over the world. So, depending on the temperature, they got a different result to help keep them warm for their trip.
The campaign more than doubled the projected sales for the cold-weather clothes, while the Travel Planner reached over 219,419 page views. It reached a lot of travel enthusiasts who either weren’t aware of the travel items, or who weren’t previously Uniqlo wearers, and expanded the brand’s reach.
As there was a steady upswing in flights to colder countries abroad, we created the Travel Planner that not only helped Filipinos dress warmer anywhere in the world, but also help Uniqlo beat it’s target for the winter items.
