Life in the Living Room Will Never Be The Same is an observational mockumentary behavioural study that opens with stylised visuals and iconic music that pays homage to legendry 1980’s cult classics Back to the Future and Ghost Busters. In an unusual mix of cinematic genres, nature documentary collides with comedy and the supernatural as a sarcastic voice over commentates on the melodramatic and fragile interaction between nature’s most fascinating species; homo-sapiens. We stalk our first character from outside the living room window. Glued to the video game controller, the male is engrossed in a Shooter style game. We introduce a second character – a female, who’s unexpected apparition on the couch startles the male. In a spooky twist, she uses supernatural forces to loosen his grip on the controller and possess the television remote. To conclude, the remote symbolises the solution to avoiding conflict in the living room.
