The Campaign

The High School Basketball League (HBL) finals is one of the hottest and most discussed about basketball game in Taiwan. Since Team mascots are a significant aspect in sport culture that bring the fans together, NIKE Taiwan presented "LIVE MASCOT CAM"- The idea to leverage each team's mascot, AR and face detection technology to transform fan's face with mascot's key characteristic on the jumbotron screens in the arena to drive fan’s energy and encourage social sharing.

Creative Execution

Nike presented the "LIVE Mascot Cam" to HBL fans, successfully engaging with the high intensity moment of the HBL finals. Real-time facial mapping AR technology was used to transpose over fans' faces with the team mascots' key characteristics, while they are caught on Taipei arena's big screen. Right after each game, they will receive a customized photo card of themselves transformed into the mascot, along with a QR code that enables them to easily share on to social media.
