Brief Explanation

Ken is traveling around the world and wondering about the strange pavement on the street and at the train station. What on earth is this for? It’s „tactile pavement" to support the movement of visually impaired people. Ken is impressed with their easy-to-understand design! The tactile pavement was invented by Seiichi Miyake of Japan in 1965. In 1967, it was installed for the first time in the world, and after that Mr Seiichi Miyakes installed them in various parts of Japan. And now, the „tactile pavement“ contributes to the realization of a barrier-free society all over the world. Furthermore, in 2016 a new type of tactile pavement was invented to increase the safety of train stations. It has an additional inner line, which allows visually impaired people to check which is the safe side of the platform. Ken is impressed and decides "Let's make the whole world barrier free!"
