The Campaign

Introducing, the Power Bank Book. DBP integrated into its annual report a charging dock, turning it into an instant power bank that charges any mobile device.

Creative Execution

Veering away from the usual annual report, we partnered with engineers to integrate a charging mechanism into the book which allows any mobile device to connect via USB port. The Power Bank Book took 4 months to produce, and copies were distributed to 1,000 stakeholders.

Copies of the Power Bank Book are now placed at office desks instead of being stashed in the bookshelves. They are even taken out on the road, to charge phones and tablets during traffic. DBP was able to promote renewable energy through the Power Bank Book, a medium that proved useful to their investors and stakeholders who funded their energy projects.

Through the Power Bank Book, the bank was able to talk to their many investors and stakeholders in the most effective and innovative medium, and with much greater impact -- by sending them an annual report that they can actually use. It helps demystify DBP’s role in the country’s development through big energy projects. And in turn, reinforces the investors’ role in nation-building. A partnership strengthened by a simple, functional piece of publication.

Insights, Strategy and the Idea

DBP pioneered energy projects, providing over 165 megawatts to more than 4.6 million people. The bank wanted to thank its many investors and stakeholders for their support, and came up with an annual report that they can actually use. A book that stores energy and charges mobile devices.
