Eddy has come to Japan on holiday and wants to see something special on his trip. His friend Kayo recommends her home town Noto, where the so-called Kiriko Festivals take place. Kiriko are huge lanterns that are carried upon the shoulders of people while singing and dancing. The carrying of the Kiriko is accompanied by many other festival activities around it. Kayo explains Eddy the many different types of Kiriko and of Kiriko festivals, all taking place close to her hometown. They end up going there to experience the festival and Eddy is blown away by the experience. Happy about his positive experience, he wants to come back to Japan the following year.
