The Campaign

'The complete picture changes everything'. It's human to jump to conclusions, especially when you only see part of a picture. Most news sites in Sri Lanka don't reveal the complete picture due to politicisation of news stations or pandering to populist egos or to increases ratings. Thus Daily Mirror encourages its fans to educate themselves on the full picture before reaching any conclusions through provocative sketches with political content that engages the audience online.

Creative Execution

Online videos were uploaded to the Dailymirror.lk fan page on Facebook starting from June 1st 2016 onwards. Fresh content was constantly created to ignite fresh conversation on topics that concern the country.

Four videos were uploaded and received over 1.5 million views, thousands of shares and hundreds of comments.

Bait fans on social media by creating content that engages the viewers and ignites debate. By doing so, the strategy was to create a ripple effect on social media baiting people to visit the website for their daily dose of news offering the complete picture.
