Episode 3: War. On April 25, 1915, well before dawn, 4000 soldiers silently rowed their way towards a baptism of fire on the shores of Gallipoli. On this day, no words were written. There was only war.

MVO: [whispering] Turn left when we hit the shore. Clear the beach immediately.
MVO: [whispering] Go, go, go, up the beach, up the beach, come on up the beach.
SFX: [ATMOS] WAR. GUN FIRE. SCREAMS.
NARRATOR: Over 600 brave men lost their lives in a single day.
The Gallipoli campaign continued for another eight long months.
