TMB One Baht Flyer 100,000 coins brought in an incredible number of 130,000 new opened accounts with the bank. Those who received the flyer didn’t just use the coin as for personal minimum entry saving money but they also passed to others as an inviting medium to open this account too. The flyers eventually acquired over 7,500 million baht worth of saving to TMB No Fixed account. Now imagine how much these tiny coins could improve financial future for Thais.

Creative Execution

It was a coin flyers that designed to make Thais saving behavior a difference. By handing them TMB One Baht Flyers to people on the street with an attached message inviting them to open TMB No Fixed with these little flyers, the coins that they usually see no value. People used them to open their TMB No Fixed account at TMB branches nearby.

Insights, Strategy and the Idea

Thai people hardly see the real value of a one baht coin (worth 10US cent). They see it as a tiny piece of metal that can be ignored anytime. And it’s impossible to let them think that they can start saving in a high interest rate account with those little coins. TMB bank would like to change this attitude by introducing a new kind of saving account with high interest rate called “TMB No Fixed”, which allows customer to open with just a minimum of one baht and automatically gain 2.5% interest rates. TMB handed them one baht flyers to people on the street with attached message inviting them to start saving behavior with TMB No Fixed by using the coins that they usually see no value.
