The Brief

At the end of 2013, the world saw an uprising of public demonstrations, with aims to create a mass movement demanding political change. It wasn’t about the fight of one man but a fight for everyone. Suthep Thuksuban, the leader of the movement, asked the public for any help anyone could provide.

Creative Execution

Art For Protest, A Facebook Page that provided free graphic art for protesters. The idea was to allow anyone to download these graphics to use at their demonstrations or to share further through social platforms.

Describe the creative solution to the brief/objective.

We responded to this request, by starting a Facebook Page that could help invoke and fuel the mass movement for a change that was desperately needed in the country. It was named “Art For Protest”. Our goal was to provide daily art pieces based around the political agenda, views of the protesters and public sentiments that were capturing the attention of the nation.

Results

Many celebrities, news reporters and also farmers joined our Facebook Page to share, discuss and use the art pieces for demonstration purposes. Including the leader, Suthep Thuksuban for the final rally, decided to use one of our art pieces as a symbol for the final demonstration. Our arts were successful vehicles to persuade millions of Thai people to come out on the street demonstrating, which today is regarded as the biggest protest movement in our political history.
