The Benilde Book was designed with three objectives in mind: Simplify information, resize the print format to ease transport, and create a platform wherein readers can experience multimedia content. The main challenge of redesigning the College prospectus was to condense each program's curriculum into more concise content, citing program objectives and its respective careers paths. The book solves this by presenting each School's learner-centered approach on industry-standard practices and disciplines. Another requirement was to showcase the College's 25 extraordinary years of service, the book shows the Lasallian Mission, highlight achievements and showcase state-of-the-art facilities.
De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde is celebrating its Silver anniversary; the College offers pioneering programs in deaf education, design and arts, hotel and travel industry, management and information technology and diplomatic affairs in the Philippines. The College's Admissions Center requested for a brand new undergraduate prospectus, highlighting the benefit why high school students should choose Benilde. The Benilde Book aims to impart a visual experience showing Benilde's achievements, extraordinary student life and its state-of-the-art facilities.
The Benilde Book is scaled down to a square format, divided into two books. The first book tells the reader why to choose Benilde while the other shows them how. The book cover features angles of "Y" seen simultaneously in 25 different angles. The book chapter 'Find a Different Angle' sums up 25 reasons why a student should choose Benilde, while 'Shape Ideas' is a showcase of how education shapes the future. 'Work Wonders' is a graphic novel that captures the dynamics of Benildean student life. QR Codes and URL links are integrated, allowing readers to experience multimedia content.
Integrated marketing was commenced and the College website (www.benilde.edu.ph) made the book accessible to diversely-gifted learners, letting end-users read the book before they purchase it. The Benilde Book was heavily shared at social media, associated with the hashtag #Benilde during the undergraduate recruitment process of the school year. The book was well-received by readers and prospective applicants, citing visual-oriented spreads and format stability have made it easier to understand the College's program offerings.
