Brief Explanation

To get people more excited about the 2014 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Japan, we made the poster. Moreover,using the design inspired by the logo, we kept the entire art direction consistent for every event-related item, from staff IDs to guest give-aways.

To get people more excited about the 2014 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Japan.

How the final design was conceived

“TABLE” is where people gather. The copy “JAPAN TABLE” suggests a new perspective to see the World Championships as a “table” that brings the world together and simply have a good time during their stay. The logo design is a single table tennis ball placed right in the center of the Japanese flag that is made to look like a table. This is the visualization of “JAPAN TABLE”. This poster is the host country’s sincere message for the contenders, audience, and visitors from around the world.

To create a sense of unity among the event site, we kept every design aspect regarding the event strictly consistent – from advertisements, venue decor, official goods and even the medals.
