Brief Explanation

We were required to produce communication designs that can solve human's problems by generating a synergistic effect between the cutting-edge technology and creative ideas. Therefore, we decided to work on the problem that we all have experienced yet nobody ever worked on to solve seriously. Yes, the problem that you often find yourself to run into someone when you walk around town and then you end up doing that familiar "left-to-right dance" to try to dodge around each other.

The Brief

This project was for self-promotion of Dentsu, the biggest advertising agency in Japan. Through this project, we aimed to make people think that Dentsu is an attractive agency by sending out the message "combination of Technology and Creativity will inspire people and solve various issues".

How the final design was conceived

We created Dodge Glass, an application designed and optimized for Google Glass. Using human recognition technology, Dodge Glass performs real-time analysis and instructs you who and where to dodge. Also, Dodge Glass has the additional function called "BUMP MODE" to intentionally make you dodge to the same direction to bump on someone you like when he/she passes by. To boost recognition of the Dodge Glass, we made a promotional video and uploaded to YouTube. We also made a promotional website that enables anyone who have the Google Glass to download and install the Dodge Glass App easily.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

Dodge Glass enables people to walk around in town without being bothered by bumping people, and this has led to enormous timesavings. At the same time, it also impressed people to think Dentsu was an attractive agency. In addition to that, we can assume the possibility to decrease car/bike accidents by applying this dodge technique in the future.
