ANNCR: Over two thirds of Australian charities struggle to find enough volunteers each year. SEEK Volunteer, a site dedicated to helping all not-for-profits find volunteers launched a national campaign to promote volunteering. When voice-over talent entered sound studios to do a paid job they found another script waiting for them in the booth. One that asked if they'd be willing to volunteer their voice. Over one hundred artists from around the country volunteered to read the spot. The studios then volunteered to record, cut and dispatch it. And metro and regional radio stations volunteered to air it. Not one cent was spent on production or media. Over the space of 4 weeks, Australian radio listeners heard a multitude of different voices all volunteering to read the same very important message.
FVO 1: Hi there, I've volunteered to read this script. FVO 2: Hi there, I've volunteered to read this script. MVO 1: Hi there, I've volunteered to read this script. MVO 2: Hi there, I've volunteered to read this script. FVO 3: Hi there, I've volunteered to read this script. The scriptwriter and sound engineer volunteered too. The station even volunteered the airtime. Ten years ago the guys at SEEK volunteered to build a site to fill Australia's thousands of volunteer positions. But more volunteers are always needed.
