For one day, in a Sydney Suburb, near a busy flow of traffic, we took over an existing car wash and set up our stunt: The Outback Dirt Wash. Literally tons of mud and dust was slapped and blasted onto LandCruisers – giving them a credible off-road look. Actors were used for staff and LandCruiser drivers. This spectacle became an online film, sent to our loyal 136,000-facebook fans. It really struck a chord, as the idea was inspired by something they’d been talking about online: LandCruiser driver mates, who never went off-road and kept their vehicle far too pristine. A message accompanied this film, encouraging people to send it to their friends, to help make all LandCruisers look like REAL LandCruisers - by going off-road and uploading their dirty LandCruiser shots for all to see.
