The Brief

To increase awareness and stop questionable people seeking child porn on a torrent community site. Regular torrent users are not doing right in the eyes of the law – they download free content illegally. But worse, child-porn seekers go to torrent sites a lot as these sites are unregulated. Our plan is to get the small-time lawbreakers to join in to stop the more dangerous child-porn seekers from coming to their community site.

Creative Execution

Everyone, even normal torrent users, hate the user who seek child-porn. Therefore, the normal users will try to protect their community site by keeping away these questionable people.

Describe the creative solution to the brief/objective.

We poison our own well. We use a thief to catch a thief. People who use torrent sites sometimes skirt on the wrong side of the law. But this is not as heinous as people looking for child porn at those same torrent sites. We encouraged ‘proper’ users to seed fake videos so the ‘questionable’ users will be frustrated by downloading a message video instead of the child porn they came looking for.

Results

This is unpaid for, and there are no rewards offered. It totally depended on the good judgement of normal torrent users to keep these child-porn predators away. All they have to do is re-seed this torrent. The more re-seed, the more popular this torrent seemed. Amazingly, there were a total of 2500 re-seeds in that first week! At last count, close to a hundred seeds are re-seeded everyday.
