Nike Free Limbo was set during Nike She Runs Seoul 2013 D-day, Nike's one of the biggest annual event. Both existing and new customers were our target, and we wanted ladies to run with Free. We wanted even more people to join and experience the flexibility of Free. So it was naturally, one of our goal to allow customers to witness the flexibility of Nike Free. Witnessing meant setting an digital installation outdoors so that people can watch others and eventually join themselves to experience the main personality of our product.
We executed the Free Limbo digital installation that allows users to experience the flexibility of the Free through the limbo game. Users could experience the flexibility by syncing their moves with a giant image of the Free. The most flexible pose of a user became a poster with the Free image, and the poster was sent to the user’s mobile and displayed on the digital wall to make the atmosphere more actively.
In May 2013, Nike was about to launch the Nike Free 5 flexible as bare foot. Our goal was to deliver the flexibility of the Nike Free to users as an innovative experience.
Lots of participants could experience the flexibility of the Free through the Free Limbo, and the Free posters shared via mobile went viral through SNS channels. The Free Limbo was a successful campaign which utilized innovative digital tools to let users experience the flexibility of the Free digitally.
