The brief was to recruit the best engineers in the country. So to find the best we created a very difficult exam, which was held completely in a banner, including the scientific calculator they needed. Engineers were asked to call a phone number – although, the phone number was the answer to a long and difficult equation, an equation that only the best of them could figure out. This unique phone number put these engineers in direct contact with an Air Force engineering recruitment officer. The banner advertising became the entrance exam to recruit them direct.
