Brief Explanation

The key challenge was to position NET. as the source for real and authentic news and entertainment for the modern, progressive Indonesian. The objectives for the identity were: As a broadcast and static identity, it needed to be flexible for motion on-screen but adaptable to static media. To bring alive the personality of the brand: bold, contemporary, Indonesian. To conceptalise, design and produce a range of broadcast logo animations, promo idents, on-screen billboards plus logos, stationery, ambient media ideas etc.

The Brief

The client’s ambition was to launch NET. (News and Entertainment Television) as a revolution in the Indonesian media space. In a country with so much potential, they felt a media brand that stood for authenticity and engaging the progressives gave the best chance for stimulating change. NET. was all about ‘inspiring and provoking change’. As a media brand - with a focus on television - it could be the catalyst. A brand on a mission. To create new perspectives on news and entertainment in Indonesia. And a personality that was contemporary and bold.

How the final design was conceived

We conceptualised the brand idea as ‘NET. is the source and catalyst - creating ripples of change’. In executions ripples emanate from the dot of the NET. wordmark. Much like the ripples that emanate from a water surface when you gently drop a pebble on it. This was applied across on-screen design, live action idents, 3D, printed materials, vehicle liveries, etc. The NET. logo also changes colour to create interest and capture the richness of Indonesian culture and the variety in the NET. programming mix.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

After a mega-impact live launch, ADEX figures within the first 8 weeks show NET. to be the #1 free-to-air local TV channel in Jakarta.
