Brief Explanation

There are currently 1,313 types of birds that are considered endangered species. Now with our bird protection program reaching its 40 year anniversary, we would like to raise awareness of the significance of our activity by the power of design.

The Brief

Today Birds, Tomorrow Man. If today is an environment where birds cannot survive, then tomorrow is an environment where humans cannot reside. The beverage/liquor manufacturer Suntory has continued its protection program for birds, which are said to be the “barometer of environment conservation”, for over 40 years in order to maintain the environment for natural water .

How the final design was conceived

We developed a design that embodies the concept “Birds and people are never separated.” It is a paper-cutting design that shows many birds flying, where the cutout represents human beings. The machine used to cut the paper is an innovative machine made in Japan. Japanese technology and the intricate designs characteristic of Japan together created an elaborate, lace-like craft made of a paper poster.

Indication of how successful the outcome was in the market

Posters that were displayed inside the trains running through the center of Tokyo were seen, touched and gave surprise to many, and was successful in spreading the significance of our bird protection program.
