Brief Explanation

As Australia’s leading magazine publisher, ACP Magazines publishes 52 audited titles in Australia, and sell almost 100 million magazines each year. As more and more content is being consumed digitally, ACP wanted to investigate a mobile solution that would allow them to deliver enhanced interactive content from their existing publications. In collaboration with Mocom (ACP’s Mobile Marketing partner), Visual Jazz Isobar was briefed to provide a mobile solution that would bring ACP’s magazine’s to life, immersing readers in a world of interactive content including videos, articles, online shopping and much more. The creation of additional content channels and engagement opportunities for each ACP publication in turn allowed ACP to generate more advertising revenue. Using ‘triggers’ delivered on print pages, the application layers additional content onto the magazine, allowing for the viewer to see rich content such as video, music, photos and links to online shopping. Pre-build AR responses are also offered to advertisers to rapidly offer extension to their existing print ads without limiting the experience delivered to readers. Some of the pre-build AR responses available at launch were: • Videos streaming full screen or playing integrated the ad page • Music album with various tracks • Photo Gallery full screen or displayed overlay in the ad page • Designs, headlines, titles or logos displayed with a 3D effect • Buttons with links to any website such as purchase product page • Sharing of content via Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter and Email. • Download mobile offers With Viewa, users can immerse themselves in a new world of multimedia content, including videos, images, audio, polls, 3D effects, image galleries, online shopping and more. All you need is your device and a Viewa enabled magazine. Just look out for the Viewa logo in the magazine and point the phone at the page to be immersed in an amazing augmented reality experience that brings magazines to life instantly. Since launching in early June, the Viewa app has been downloaded over 40,000 times, with users spending an average of 24 minutes engaging with the application. Engagement continues to rise in July with over 44% new visitors, and the app currently exceeds a four star rating in the iTunes app store.
