Brief Explanation

To take a leadership role in the competitive Health Insurance mobile market, Medibank needed to deliver increased value for members, additional service for customers, and fill in gaps across digital initiatives. By looking at retention of members as the primary objective, with acquisition as a close second, we decided to develop the Symptom Checker App as the first of a suite of mobile health applications for Medibank members. By looking at retention of members as the primary objective, with acquisition as a close second, we decided to develop the Symptom Checker as the first of a suite of mobile health applications for Medibank members. The purpose of the Symptom Checker was to provide a simple tool to empower users and help them feel more in control of their health. Through the use of this tool, we enabled them to manage their health issues on a daily basis, as well as increase engagement with the brand. We built a native iPhone application that addresses key Australian health symptoms. The application allows the user to drive down into male/female and adult/child health related health issues, and click through to read information, facts and instructions relating to their symptoms. Users are also prompted to input their personal emergency contact details, such as their health care provider, so they can simply click a button to call them if advised to do so. Standard emergency contact details are inherent in the app, and are presented for the user. We executed a native iPhone application that functions across 3GS, 4 and 4S Operating Systems. As the application has only recently hit the Apple App store, results aren't accessible as yet.
