Over 10 Million Filipinos work overseas away from their families --- a sacrifice that they make in order to provide a better life for loved ones. Being away from family is difficult to deal with, especially during Christmas. More so for the children they leave behind. Christmas is one of the most celebrated occasions in the Philippines, typically a time when families come together to celebrate the holidays. Head of the table is a Christmas story from the point of view of Noel, a boy left behind by his father working abroad during Christmas. We see in this heartwarming story how in his strife to fill his father’s absence, he creates a tin can phone with empty Alaska Condensada to try to connect to his family. His mother realizes his sadness when she hears what he was saying over the tin can phone. On Christmas eve, she then gives Noel a very special surprise. She has invited family to celebrate Christmas dinner with them. He gets even more surprised when he receives a call from his father, on his tin can phone, all made possible by his mother and her mobile on the other end of the tin can phone.
