To get local ECDs attending the AWARD School graduation, we needed to get their attention. So we leaked information that DDB ECD Toby Talbot was already making a play to get the best students for himself - Via an email 'accidently' sent from Toby’s PA to Colenso BBDO's Steve Cochran instead of DDB's own Steve Kane. Cochran sent this to all of Colenso, then it spread around the industry and to the local ad media. As a result the ECDs turned up, and in less than a week after graduation 75% of students had been given jobs or placements.
