After going through the rounds of various options, we finally stumbled upon something interesting. We realized that the abbreviation of their names when joined together turns out to be UPDN. The name perfectly symbolizes the market behaviour – the UP’s and DOWN’s of it. We also extended the idea by creating collaterals with the same essence.
The partners, Upen Patel and Dhruv Narang, the veterans of stock market over the years, wanted to start a broking company which works on just one motive– to generate profits for the investors irrespective of the market status. The brief was to coin a quintessential name and the logo for their company.
The real idea lies in the execution of the logo; turn it upside down and it remains the same. What it does is beautifully describes the philosophy of the company – whether the market is up or down, the investors will always be at profitable situation.
The client fell in instant love with the idea, which meant an absolute go ahead.It also won us Silver Pencil at One Show Design 2012.
